Call for Application - 2024 Africa Summer School in Econometrics (ASSE 2024)

We are pleased to announce the Africa Summer School in Econometrics (ASSE 2024), which will be held on May 31- June 4, 2024 (Hybrid). The ASSE will be followed by the Griliches Lectures on June 5, 2024.

The ASSE 2024 will cover the following topics: Foundation of Machine Learning and its applications to applied economics, the role of technology for the structural transformation of Sub-Saharan Africa, business cycle: sources of persistent changes in the output gap and unemployment rate, semiparametric estimation for structural parameters in policy evaluation, recent advances in prediction with structural models.

Confirmed lecturers are (in alphabetical order): James Morley (University of Sydney), Marco Del Negro (New York Fed), Maximilian Kasy (University of Oxford), Sami Stouli (University of Bristol and University of Melbourne) and Tavneet Suri (MIT). The Griliches Lectures will be given by Ellen McGrattan (University of Minnesota).
